​Good Morning Yoga – Why Should You Participate?

Yoga’s beginnings trace to northern India more than 5000 years ago. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s yoga masters began to travel west attracting attention and followers. The first yoga studio opened in Hollywood in 1947 and in the 1980’s yoga gained popularity in the United States with the first reports of its health benefits. Why should we do yoga? Practicing the postures, breathing exercises and meditation makes you healthier in body, mind and spirit. Yoga lets you tune in, chill out, shape up -- all at the same time. Yoga improves muscle tone, strength and flexibility, reduces tension, improves circulation and stimulates the immune system. The definition of yoga is to join or unite and the practice of yoga is also known to purify the mind and spirit, attaining union with our physical being. Yoga does not adhere to any particular religion, belief system or community. It has always been approached as an avenue to inner wellness. We will be hosting 50 minute “Good Morning Yoga” sessions on three Saturdays in September starting Sept. 8that 9:00 a.m. for only $10/person.
